It’s being billed as the largest concert fundraiser in the history of Irvine’s public schools.
On Sunday, May 23, the Irvine Public Schools Foundation will host the “iJam for Teachers Family Festival,” showcasing several up-and-coming rock acts, including All Star Weekend, School Gyrls and Evan Taubenfeld. (You may not have heard of these groups, but there's a decent chance your kids have.) In addition, Irvine’s own Motormouth and Pockitchange will be taking the stage. The festival, set to feature bounce houses, carnival games, face-painting and more, will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Irvine High School Stadium. So how do you get tickets? Just buy a special “iJam” T-shirt, available for $12 at any IUSD school. From 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, representatives from IPSF will also be selling the festival shirts right outside the district's administration building, located at 5050 Barranca Parkway. We can confirm that they’re pretty cool shirts, and, again, they’ll serve as your tickets to iJam. Of course, you can also buy tickets for $15 each at the festival, allowing you to wear the shirt of your choosing. Either way, proceeds will benefit IUSD’s schools. For more information, call 949-734-6873. Update: We just learned that IPSF CEO Neda Zaengle will be personally selling T-shirts from now until 4 p.m. at the District Office, 5050 Barranca Parkway. A free gift will accompany every purchase while supplies last.
