From culminating student performances to ceremonies honoring athletic, academic, and character achievements, to school, college, and career transitions, this is a season filled with many moments worthy of reflection and celebration.

Whether it’s preparing for Pre-K and Kindergarten, exploring fun summer camps, navigating the college decision process, or planning for careers and jobs beyond IUSD, we are here to support our students and families. Celebrating Earth Month: IUSD’s Commitment to Sustainability

In celebration of Earth Month, IUSD is proud to highlight the District’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. From expanding solar energy and water-wise landscaping to food recovery and student engagement, our schools are taking meaningful steps to reduce environmental impact and build a greener future. Led by the Sustainability Team, these efforts work to empower students, staff and families to take action and make a difference. These efforts include:

  • Achieving the infrastructure capacity to reach the District’s goal of becoming carbon-negative.
  • Launching a Food Recovery Donation Program in partnership with local food banks to reduce food waste and provide excess food back to the community.
  • Inspiring environmentally conscious habits through school-based programs such as school gardens, high school-level sustainability courses, and the annual Earth Day Poster Contest.
