More than 1,000 plates topped with hotcakes and sausages were served up at Brywood Elementary on Sunday, Oct. 6, as the school’s sixth-grade class hosted a successful pancake breakfast fundraiser.
The event, which also featured a used book sale and carnival, will help pay for this year’s outdoor education trip for sixth-graders, who dutifully sold tickets, served breakfast and worked at booths.
Local organizations and businesses also pitched in, including The Kiwanis Club of Irvine, ATA Taekwondo, Aviles Group Keller Williams Realty, Del Obispo Dental, Northwood Pizza, Updike Orthodontist, Starbucks and Nice Hair Salon.
"Principal Ramirez, along with many teachers, spent time with their school community watching students play games, purchase books and spend time with families and friends," parent Gigi Labus told us. "It was a wonderful day and a successful sixth-grade fundraiser for Brywood."
