After an extensive interview process, IUSD is pleased to announce Kelvin Okino has been selected as Executive Director of Facilities Planning and Construction. Mr. Okino joins the District with more than 28 years of construction management experience, working with nineteen K-12 school districts and five community college districts. Mr.
Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) recently granted $140,000 to 35 teachers for innovative projects at 19 schools in the Irvine Unified School District (IUSD), through its annual Innovative Teaching Award Program.
Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) is excited to announce their 2015 High School Academic Camps for students entering grades 9-12 in fall 2015. Classes will be held Monday through Friday, June 22 through July 31, at Irvine High School, with a limited number of classes at University High School.

The Irvine Unified School District recently partnered with All Green on an e-waste recycling event held at the District Office. Approximately 16,524 pounds of e-waste was collected – at $.09 per pound, $1,487.16 was collected.

IUSD, joined by Five Point Communities and the City of Irvine, broke ground on Beacon Park School Wednesday, April 1. Set to open in August 2016, the District’s 38th school will serve up to 1,000 K-8 students. This world-class educational center is located in the heart of the Great Park Neighborhoods.
Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Beacon Park School today, April 1 at 3:30 p.m. at the new school site – 200 Cultivate, Irvine. The ceremony marks the start of construction on Irvine’s 38th school, serving the Great Park Neighborhoods. Beacon Park School (K8) is expected to open in August 2016.
Earlier today, UC Irvine police briefly asked UCI students to shelter in place while they searched for an alleged gunman on campus. Campus officials found the person in question and normal activities have resumed as of 3:15 p.m. There is no threat to the UCI campus or surrounding areas.
The Woodbridge Academic Decathlon team placed eighth in the 36th annual California Academic Decathlon competition in Sacramento earlier this month.
