As IUSD schools prepare to kick off the 2020-21 school year on August 20, they will communicate detailed information about Chromebook pickups directly with families. Chromebooks will be checked out from students’ neighborhood/assigned schools, including students who are enrolled in the IUSD Virtual Academy.
Chromebooks have already been set aside for families who indicated they will need a one for “at home and at school” on the Academic Model Selection Form. For families who selected the “at school only” option, a device will be provided upon their student’s return to campus.
Please know that we have enough Chromebooks to provide one for every student who needs one. If families did not request a Chromebook through the Academic Model Selection Form, they may contact their school to update their selection and reserve a device.
The District will also be offering an optional insurance program for the device in case you are worried about damage or theft while the device is in your student’s possession. The cost is $20 and if you are interested in signing up for this, you can find more details here: IUSD Chromebook Insurance Program.
Those who indicated they do not have internet access, will be contacted by the District on or before August 14 with additional information about options for internet access at home.
If you have questions about Chromebook checkouts, contact your school directly. For more information, including tech support for Chromebooks, click here or email helpdesk@iusd.org.
