Portola High School was named a 2025 California Green Ribbon School sustainability honoree by the California Department of Education for their outstanding achievements in environmental excellence.

Portola High School and University High School have each been awarded Strike Up The Band grants from the Philharmonic Society of Orange County.

Four IUSD students were named recipients of the prestigious corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarships, the highest number awarded to any school district in Orange County.

Thirty-four IUSD students were invited to present their water-related Science Fair projects at a special showcase hosted by the Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD) on April 14.

The OC Register recently announced the semifinalists for Artist of the Year, with eight IUSD students selected for their respective art disciplines.

Sierra Vista Middle School’s Science Olympiad team earned the prestigious title of Southern California Science Olympiad Champions. This marks the fourth consecutive title for the team.
IUSD students excelled at the State Science and Engineering Fair, with 10 students achieving top-four positions and several honorable mentions and sponsored awards.

IUSD is launching the Early College Program for incoming 9th-grade students starting the 2025-26 school year. Courses are UC/CSU transferable and can lead to IGETC Certification or even an associate’s degree with additional units.
