Each year, IUSD teachers and administrators work together to develop school calendars for the years ahead for both traditional and year-round schools. While instruction and learning are the primary considerations, this group also considers past history, tradition, and feedback from the community. IUSD would like your feedback before we finalize these calendars for the 2026-27 academic school year.
The draft 2026-27 traditional and year-round calendars are very similar in structure to the approved calendars for 2025-26, which has a week-long break at Thanksgiving. To do this and to align with summer school calendars, the year-round calendar has an extended summer break and a shortened winter break. The number of school days has not changed.
