IUSD is pleased to announce that Christine Miller has been named as the new Principal of Canyon View Elementary School. She was selected from a talented candidate pool during a selection process that included staff and parent participation. Mrs. Miller will work with Principal Giguiere and District leaders to ensure a smooth transition in leadership in the coming days and weeks.
Mrs. Miller is an experienced educator who is currently the Assistant Principal at Portola Springs Elementary School in Irvine. She has a wealth of classroom experience as a teacher in grades 3-6 in Irvine for more than 20 years. She is excited to serve as Principal at Canyon View and she is looking forward to meeting staff, parents and students.
“I’m excited to become a part of the Canyon View community," said Mrs. Miller. "It is evident that staff, students and families value a culture of inclusivity and achievement. I look forward to working with the Canyon View school community to continue the good work being done.”
Mrs. Miller is a resident of Irvine, and each of her three children attended Irvine schools. Her oldest son John lives and works in New York, her middle daughter Katie is pursuing a degree in elementary education, and her youngest daughter Lauren will be graduating next week from Northwood High School, and attending University of California, Santa Barbara in the fall.
