As we noted previously, IUSD is in the final stages of updating its Strategic Initiatives, and district officials are hoping you’ll review the latest draft and add your input by Monday, June 18. The eight-page document that's being revised is considered both a mission statement and a roadmap for progress, spelling out the organization's core values, essential beliefs and strategies for moving forward. Staff members edited and augmented portions of it this year, adding new language related to technology, essential learning capacities, professional development and strategic alliances. Now the district is asking employees, parents, students and members of the community to take a look before 7 p.m. on Monday, June 18, which is the deadline for providing feedback. (You can access the document, as well as an online input form for comments, by clicking here.) The Board of Education is expected to review the latest Strategic Initiatives draft at its next meeting on June 26. Once again, here’s a brief video that explains the process, featuring Superintendent Terry Walker. Strategic Initiatives 2012-2017 from Irvine Unified School District on Vimeo.
