The Irvine Unified School District, in collaboration with the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center/ Irvine Chinese School, is offering an age and developmentally appropriate after-school Mandarin Immersion program for IUSD students in grades K-3.
The program will expand access to world language study by providing an earlier opportunity for heritage and non-heritage speakers of Mandarin to develop listening, speaking and early literacy skills. It will also provide a pathway to bilingualism and biliteracy for students that will continue through their secondary and post-secondary education
After school classes begin February 24 and will run through May 29. Host schools include Eastwood, Westpark and Woodbury elementary schools. To register your student or for more information about weekly days and times, visit sccca.org/MIASP or email to miasp@sccca.org.
Deadline to register is February 10.
