Northwood High’s drama department is getting ready to stage its fall production of “Our Town” Oct. 22 through Oct. 26 in the school’s theater. All shows start at 7 p.m., with an additional matinée performance at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Tickets, which can be purchased at the box office during lunch or before each show, are $10 for students and senior citizens and $12 for adults. The Oct. 22 show is considered a preview performance, so those tickets are only $7 each.
Seating will be limited to about 145 per show, and there’s a good reason for that: The audience will be sitting up on the stage, getting a “theater-in-the-round” experience.
“The show is truly an immersive experience,” says Danyelle Dunavold, Northwood’s theater arts director. “The audience will be seated on stage in stadium seating while the actors bring this timeless classic to life around you.”
Guests will even be served wedding cake during intermission. We’d explain why, but we fear that might reveal a major plot point.
