Two weeks ago, we launched Optimistic Household, which was developed solely for IUSD as part of our ongoing efforts to connect students and families with resources that support learning and social emotional wellness at the highest levels. Module 1 was the first in this six-part series and focused on the importance of building optimism during challenging times. It included a video message from positive psychology expert Shawn Achor, activities and resources.
Module 2 is now available and is focused on building and deepening social connections, especially during this global pandemic and social distancing. In this module, Achor discusses why connections are so important to our wellbeing and ways we can broaden the community of people we feel connected to. Module 2 also provides activities and resources for families to engage in together.
Exploring and participating in these activities can make a difference for your family and others, especially as we head into the summer when some students may feel a greater sense of being disconnected from friends and their traditional summer activities. We hope you will take a moment to review this information and share it with your family.
