
The Irvine Unified School District’s Special Education Department and Community Advisory Committee are hosting the Annual Abilities Awareness Event, with the theme “Allyship in Action!”
“This event celebrates the unique strengths and talents of every individual in our district and showcases the powerful allyship that exists among our teachers, students, and families. It's a chance for us to come together, learn from one another, and appreciate the diverse abilities that make our school communities so special,” stated Jennifer O’Malley, Special Education Executive Director.

Designed to bring our community together, foster connections and share valuable information, this event is free and open to the public. The festivities will include:
- Dance and Music with Studio D: Get your groove on with a special dance and music lesson starting at 5:15 p.m. led by Studio D, an arts school for all abilities through the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
- Guest DJ Performance: Enjoy a lively performance by guest DJ, B Diamond, setting the perfect atmosphere for celebration.
- Family Resource Fair: Connect with local organizations and resources that support inclusive practices in the community. Discover valuable information and connect with community partners dedicated to supporting individuals of all abilities.
- Art Gallery: Explore a showcase of artwork celebrating the diverse talents within our community.
- Fun Activities: Participate in engaging activities designed for all ages and abilities.
- Food Trucks: Enjoy a variety of delicious food options available for purchase from local food trucks.
