IUSD Launches New Early College Program for 2025-26 School Year

IUSD Early College Program

IUSD is excited to announce, in partnership with Irvine Valley College (IVC), the launch of the new Early College Program (ECP) for incoming 9th-grade students starting the 2025-26 school year. This program offers academically qualified students a unique opportunity to earn nearly two years of transferable college credits while completing their high school education. The ECP can save students both time and money, which can be directed toward a career, graduate work, or other academic goals.

Program Highlights:

  • Open to current 8th-grade students starting their freshman year at any IUSD high school.
  • Requires a 4-year commitment.
  • Most IVC classes are virtual or asynchronous, Monday-Thursday from 8-9:30 a.m., with occasional in-person assessments or labs.
  • Courses are UC/CSU transferable and can lead to IGETC Certification or even an associate’s degree with additional units.
  • Eight spaces are available per high school, with more spots if available.
  • Students from underrepresented groups or first-generation college families are encouraged to apply.
