Congratulations to Lucia Yu from Rancho San Joaquin Middle School for placing third in the Orange County Spelling Bee!

Jeffrey Trail Middle School, South Lake Middle School, Venado Middle School and Northwood High School have been named 2024 California Distinguished Schools.

Numerous IUSD students demonstrated their exceptional skills, earning qualifications for the upcoming state competition scheduled for April.

Sierra Vista Middle School, Jeffrey Trail Middle School, University High School, Portola High School and Northwood High School Science Olympiad teams secured their spot at the April 6 State Science Olympiad competition.

Woodbridge High's Academic Decathlon Team won the county championship, marking their seventh win in eight years and Uni placed second overall. Both schools will advance to state.

Northwood High's Model UN team was the only California school to compete in this prestigious international competition, receiving awards and recognition.

University High School's Science Bowl and Ocean Science Bowl teams placed first at the recent regional competitions held at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena. 

IUSD students shined during the District’s 43rd Annual Science Fair! More than 300 projects were submitted by students in grades 6-12 with nearly 200 advancing to the OC Science and Engineering Fair.

IUSD was named a top ranking district, ranking as the 14th best school district in California and the No. 1 best school district in Orange County by Niche. University High School was also named a top 10 public high school. 

This annual honor goes to first- or second-year instructors who go above and beyond while demonstrating professional curiosity and an unbridled enthusiasm for teaching.
