Northwood and University high schools have been named 2021 California Distinguished Schools. This designation is the state’s top honor for schools.

IUSD would like to gather stakeholder input to determine priority actions for using Federal and State stimulus funds through a Stimulus Funds Input Survey. The survey is now open through April 23.
IUSD partners, Vital Link and OC Pathways, will host Leadership and Entrepreneurial Mindset Week from April 26-30. High school students will be able to network with industry leaders, participate in live workshops, build leadership skills, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
IUSD’s sustainability team is hosting the District’s annual Earth Day Student Poster Contest, which is open to all IUSD students. This year’s theme is “Restore our Earth.” Posters should highlight actions that can make a difference.
For the ninth consecutive year, IUSD has been named one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. IUSD joins only four percent of school districts nationwide to receive this prestigious honor for its commitment to music and education.
Once again, University High School earned first place at the recent Science Bowl Regional competition. Hosted by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, this annual competition tests students' knowledge of math, physics, chemistry and biology, among other topics.
