IUSD’s Brianne Ford, Assistant Superintendent of Information Technology, was recognized and celebrated by education IT professionals throughout the state during the California IT In Education (CITE) conference, where she was inducted into the IT Hall of Fame. Inductees were recognized for their unique service to educational technology, influence in the PK-12 education community, and dedication to supporting education and their colleagues to advance positive student learning outcomes.
As one of the highest-performing school districts in the nation, IUSD has long maintained a strong commitment to innovation through technology. With more than two decades of experience in leading technology teams in PK-12 education, Ford oversees IUSD's dedicated technology team, which serves a critical role in the District's continuous improvement efforts.
“This is an incredibly well-deserved honor,” said IUSD Superintendent Terry Walker. “On behalf of the Board of Education, we deeply appreciate, respect, and admire Brie and all she and her team have accomplished by leveraging technology in innovative ways that advance and enrich teaching and learning for our more than 37,000 students.”
Prior to her current role, Ford served as a project manager, business applications director, and chief technology officer at San Francisco Unified School District. She earned her B.A. in Public Policy, and M.A. in Policy Analysis and Evaluation from Stanford University. Brianne actively collaborates with the PK-12 technology community and is one of the co-founders of the Education Technology Joint Powers Authority (Ed Tech JPA), a procurement consortium for public agencies. She served as president of the Ed Tech JPA from 2019-23. In that role, Ford supported the organization's efforts to streamline procurement processes and reduce the costs of technology for all schools.
