Invest in Educational Excellence by Supporting the Irvine Public Schools Foundation

IPSF

The Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) is dedicated to providing educational enrichment for every IUSD student, including programs in science, technology, engineering, art, and music. You can support this mission by participating in IPSF’s annual giving campaign, which kicks off on October 17 with IPSF Giving Day and runs through the end of December.

Donations to IPSF help make a difference where it matters most—in the classroom. Contributions provide additional qualified instructional assistants at the elementary level, improving student-to-educator ratios. In our middle and high schools, class-size support funds equate to additional offerings and smaller classes in critical subject areas. IPSF also supports music education from transitional kindergarten through grade six and offers grants that enable teachers and counselors to pursue innovative learning strategies. IPSF’s support for IUSD’s health and wellness programs includes funding athletic trainers at every high school and contributing to districtwide mental health resources.

Double Your Impact

When you give to IPSF, your contributions are maximized through the City of Irvine’s Challenge Match Grant. The City will match every donation made to IPSF, up to $1.3 million dollars, giving IPSF the opportunity to potentially raise more than $2.5 million for IUSD students and schools. If your employer offers a matching program, your impact could be even greater!

IPSF In Action: Making a Difference

Examples of IPSF’s impact can be seen throughout our district at all grade levels, including programs such as the Innovative Grants. This incredible program empowers IUSD teachers and staff to dream big and develop creative approaches to teaching that will engage and inspire students.

In 2024, IPSF awarded nearly $200,000 in grant funds to 11 exceptional projects. Examples of grants include:

» Sierra Vista Middle School’s “Giving Bach” program, where students visited Portola Springs Elementary School to perform for special needs children. The initiative creates meaningful connections through music and is a powerful example of IPSF’s support for arts and inclusion.

» Another IPSF-funded project is the “Inchy Bookworm Vending Machine” at Northwood Elementary School, which fosters a love of reading. The vending machine offers a variety of books that spark imagination, knowledge, and cultural exploration. Tokens are earned through positive behavior, linking good conduct with the joy of reading and on students’ birthdays.

» Lakeside Middle School’s “Agricultural Lab and Garden” offers 7th and 8th graders hands-on learning in math, science, and environmental sustainability. The grant funded newly raised garden beds, a greenhouse, composting bins, and a common area, creating a space where students can grow produce for cooking classes, explore lessons on food waste, and find a peaceful retreat on campus. The garden fosters a sense of community and well-being, serving as a unique educational resource.
