Dear IUSD Community,
Welcome to the first edition of this year’s IUSD Insights, our official publication for news and information. We created this monthly newsletter to enhance communications with our community and help ensure you feel well-informed and connected with IUSD.
Each month, we share insights about our District, including the priorities and people behind our promise to provide the highest-quality educational experience we can envision. We also feature news about events, activities, accomplishments, and topics that are important to you. As active partners in your child(ren)’s education, we hope you will take a moment to explore each edition of IUSD Insights.
This month, we are highlighting important information about IUSD services and resources for parents, families, and students, as well as ways you can connect with IUSD. You’ll find information about our dedicated Board of Education Members and their important roles within our district. We’ve also highlighted mental health and wellness resources and tips to help students find balance throughout the school year. Also featured is information about Parent and Family Engagement, including details about our Parent Center, the Irvine Parent Education Program, Community Liaisons, and language services.
Safety remains a top priority for our district and families. See our story about e-bike safety specifically designed for parents and what you need to know to help keep your children safe. Your partnership is vital to helping ensure your children travel to and from school safely. As part of Emergency Preparedness Month, you’ll also learn more about how IUSD prepares for various emergencies and what you can do to prepare.
If you or someone you know is interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals, we have several job opportunities within IUSD. Please see the “HR Corner” in this publication. Finally, check out the “News Around the District” section, which features events, activities, and the achievements of our students, staff, and schools.
Thank you for being an essential part of the “US” at the center of IUSD. On behalf of the IUSD Board of Education and our District Leadership Team, we appreciate your partnership.
We hope our year-round schools have a restful Fall Break and that our students and families in our traditional schools continue to enjoy the new school year.
Sincerely,
Terry L. Walker
