IUSD students received top honors at this year’s National Biology and Chemistry olympiad competitions, with two University High students moving forward to represent the United States at the International Chemistry Olympiad.
IUSD would like to thank our community for participating in the 50th Anniversary Photo Contest. With more than 200 photo submissions, there was a broad range of outstanding photos that creatively captured the many wonderful and different aspects of our District.  
During the June 7, 2022 IUSD Board of Education Meeting, the District hosted a School Safety Presentation to share information about IUSD’s comprehensive approach to safety and emergency preparedness.  The video and presentation are now available.  
IUSD offers free, 24/7, unlimited 1:1 tutoring through PAPER all year-round. Tutoring available in English, Spanish, French, and Mandarin. 
Irvine High engineering design and development students researched, developed, and presented their innovative solutions to real-world problems at this year’s ocMaker Challenge.

Ken Kafton is the only employee who has been with IUSD for the entirety of its history, witnessing its growth and evolution.  In this article, Ken shares his story and some of the District's history starting in the early 1970s, before IUSD was even its own school district.
